Schmorl's node

What is Sciatica
Sciatica can be said in different ways to patients, presently I am suffering from this sort of disease as per doctor and will be going for MRI dated 16/08/2010, which is a well known and important test for those who are suffering from back pain whether it is due to disc prolapse (bulging/herniation) or nerve inflammation. It is very rare that a medicine cure a patient completely from disc prolapse or nerve inflammation.  I am having leg pain and whole body has biting, sparking, burning like sensation because of my illness.  Medicines are somewhat helping to reduce pain but is not a proper solution to get proper fitness.

Experience and hope of MRI Scan done dated 16 August 2010
Heard before MRI scan can be scary but my own experience is MRI scan is quite normal test as other tests. It may take 15-30 minutes, of course depending on areas of body.  My MRI was done only in lumbar region and it took about 15-20 minutes.  My experience was like this:  I went to MRI cabin and was asked if I have any metal with me, any pacemaker inside my body, or any metallic material used inside my body to perform surgery, my weight. The reason I understood since it is magnetic test, metal is not advised to have anywhere within the body. Then I lied down on the MRI scan bed and put ear-bud as it is noisy inside the machine when it starts and sent in slowly and was given a pumping tube to signal in case I need any help, and asked not to move during the MRI procedure.  I was slowly sent in and started to think good things and it was very easily finished.  I did not move, I just kept my faith on god, and it finished very normal way.  So, MRI scan is like other very usual tests and there is no reason to be scared of it.  I have appointment with doctor dated 20 August 2010 and hopefully actual reason of my illness will be sorted out and will receive curable treatment.

SCHMORL'S NODE
After having MRI done, I went to visit doctor dated 20 August 2010 to know if there was anything sorted out of my body discomfort and pain.  The doctor told me that I have disc deformation at disc L3 and in medical term it is known as SCHMORL'S NODE. While explaining he told me L3 disc was deformed which did not effect cervical cord and therefore they decided not to do any surgery.

He then prescribed me Tradolan Retard 100 mg (Tramadol hydrochloride as generic name).  I have been taking it since 23 August 2010 and waiting to see if it brings solution for me.
