Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori):
It is a condition when H. Pylori type bacteria infects a stomach, which can cause gastritis and in severe cases can cause peptic ulcer disease.
Tests:
- It can be detected from microscopic examination from the sample collected from stomach of an infected patient.
- Another way is said that it is possible to detect from stool test.
Symptopms:
It is not necessary that everyone will have symptoms of being infected, but there are symptoms which can be seen with many patients -- nausea
- vomiting
- weight loss
- abdominal pain
- bloody / discolored (black) stool
- etc.
The patient should see doctor in case of any abnormality.
Treatment:
Usually treated with combination of three medications like lansoprazole, clarithromycin, amoxicillin(do not take medication without permission of doctor).
